Alumni Survey

Take Our Alumni Survey

Hello, my name is Dr. John Seita. I am a professor at Michigan State University, and just like you, I am an alumni of Starr Commonwealth! I am proud to be leading a team of researchers in an important study on the residential/out-of-home care system. Your thoughts on this topic are invaluable so I’d like to invite you to participate in the project.

Participation includes taking an anonymous, online survey about your attitudes towards your out-of-home care experience and your experiences of trauma, resilience, and social support throughout your lifetime.

The purpose of this research study is to understand the trauma and resilience indicators in alumni of the out-of-home care system as well as the role of social support systems. In collecting this information, we aim to gain an understanding of the experiences that happen to individuals who were in out-of-home care at one time and hope that the information can help shape and improve policies and practices to better serve youth in out-of-home care situations. Additionally, the hope is that the information learned will help service providers and policy writers improve upon out-of-home care.

Please consider helping by completing an online survey. It will take approximately 20-25 minutes of your time.
