Description
Project Moving Forward was developed by Scott Hampton in 2010 after realizing the need for institutional programing geared towards helping former foster youth with self-esteem, social skills, mutual respect, and other rehabilitative tools. Mr. Hampton has a combined 29 years of experience in and with the foster care and criminal justice systems. Mr. Hampton was in the foster care system for 13 years and spent 16 years incarcerated.
Project Moving Forward is dedicated to improving the lives of current and former foster youth through inspiration, encouragement, guidance, and education.
The goals of the Project Moving Forward program are:
- To reduce incarceration and recidivism rates among former and current foster care youth
- To reduce homelessness among former and current foster youth
- To reduce substance abuse among former and current foster care youth
- To assist in making the transition from incarcerated and/or aged out person, to a productive, self-sufficient member of the community.
