Supporting Professionals and Communities with Trauma-Informed Practices

The National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children

Equipping professionals with the right tools for trauma counseling. TLC provides training courses, materials and conferences to therapists and other professionals in the United States and around the world. We train and equip professionals and caregivers with the right tools to help guide children, adults, families and communities through the devastating effects of trauma. TLC is one of the three training and coaching programs of Starr Commonwealth. The other two programs are Reclaiming Youth International (RYI) and Glasswing. All of the programs draw on the Circle of Courage® model of positive youth development based on the universal principle that to be emotionally healthy all youth need to experience Belonging, Mastery, Independence and Generosity.
