Gary Crist joined Starr Commonwealth in 2003 after gaining 20 years of experience in the management accounting profession. In his role, he provides leadership to Accounting and Finance along with the functions of Information Technology, Human Resources, Compliance & Risk Management and Property Management. From his initial position at Starr, he was advanced to Vice President of Finance in 2016 and to his current position in 2018.

A graduate of Albion College, he furthered his professional education earning the Certified Management Accountant, (CMA) designation in 1993. He was Finance Director at the Battle Creek Community Foundation and held accounting positions of progressive responsibility with the Aeroquip Vickers Corporation previous to his tenure at Starr Commonwealth. He has served on the Board of Trustees at the Food Bank of South Central Michigan and the Homer Area Community Foundation.
