Starr Certified Trauma & Resilience Specialists (CTRS) have a fundamental understanding of the impact toxic stress, life experiences, and trauma have on learning; the social, emotional, and physical development of students; and the role resilience plays in creating positive, future health outcomes. With a specialization in educational settings, each Specialist understands the importance their own curiosity of a child’s life experiences plays in diagnosing behavior, developing trusting relationships, and creating a strong learning environment for all children to thrive.

Educators across North America pursue trauma-informed certification in order to:

  • To continue your pursuit of learning new tools and skills to heal trauma/toxic stress from life experiences and build resilience within your educational setting.
  • To gain access to a large network of CTRSs within your field,  allowing you to share experiences, exchange best practices, and continue to expand your skillset.
  • To achieve a new, professional credential to showcase on professional materials/platforms to differentiate yourself, complete with a certification badge to distinguish your commitment to building resilience in the students and therefore families and communities you serve.

Professionals must successfully complete Starr’s 10 Steps to Create a Trauma-Informed Resilient School eCourse and pass the final exam with a score of 70% or better. Upon completion, your certification credentials will be available on the course page. Your badge will be emailed to you, and it is yours to display forever!

Keep your access to 10 Steps after your 365 day purchase window through StarPASS! StarrPASS is a streaming platform that is designed to provide ongoing learning experiences that reinforce and expand upon the trauma-informed, resilience-focused foundation you have set through the completion of 10 Steps to Create a Trauma-Informed Resilient School and certification. 

Annual passes are $50 per individual and can be purchased directly through our store. Starr recommends purchasing your StarrPASS prior to 365 days Certified Specialists may purchase StarPASS on an annual basis, which includes access to the 10 Steps course, additional elective courses, bonus videos, past conference content, a minimum of 2 webinars annually, and more!

Your CTRP-E status remains a powerful acknowledgment of your hard work to transform classroom culture, and you will remain in good standing through the remainder of your certification window. Moving forward, Starr’s practitioner-level certifications will be replaced with our new specialist track (as described above). You may certainly take advantage of the savings within the specialist track through 10 Steps to Create a Trauma-Informed Resilient School eCourse packages. If you choose to wait until the end of your practitioner certification window, you will now only be required to sign up for StarrPASS (Starr’s on-demand trauma-informed library of videos) to maintain access to the CTRS-E resource page.
